The Why:

Being a dog owner is more than having a friendly face around the house waiting for you to get home. This is an exploration into the negative instead of the affirmative of dog ownership. 

As someone who owns multiple dogs, many people stop me on my walks wanting to know what type of dogs I have. They don’t see the dog as a whole being, in all of it’s complexities,  but rather they see the dog as just a fluffy beautiful animal that appeals to their sense of sight. As in any relationship all things aren’t easy all of the time. Most times it can be difficult and challenging for the owner in ways that may be uncomfortable. 

This book was written with the intent to make people think twice about buying a dog based on looks alone, and go Beyond The Fur.
